HyET Group Signs MoU with Pertamina to Develop Green Hydrogen, E-Fuels and Renewable Energy Solutions in Indonesia
Berlin, Germany – 4th September 2025 – HyET Group, the Dutch leader in renewable energy technology, and PT Pertamina, the Indonesian state-owned energy company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join forces in exploring and developing innovative technologies in the fields of green hydrogen, e-fuel (e.g. sustainable aviation fuel: e-SAF) and flexible thin-film PV solutions.
Under this strategic partnership, HyET Group and Pertamina NRE will cooperatively pilot and scale breakthrough technologies that convert geothermal energy into green hydrogen and e-fuels. The project aligns with Indonesia's national strategy to transition towards a low-carbon energy system and increase its leadership role in the global renewable energy sector.
In addition, the MoU includes cooperation in the development and potential localization of flexible thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology. Both sides will explore the establishment of a HyET Solaris production facility in Indonesia with a view to enhance local PV manufacturing capacities and enhance local value addition.”
The partnership will also develop innovative solutions for decentralized power generation on Indonesia's outer islands—leveraging HyET's proprietary technologies to increase sustainable and reliable energy access for off-grid communities across the archipelago.
The partnership marks a significant step toward large-scale deployment of integrated renewable energy systems in Indonesia, following both parties' commitment to innovation, sustainability, and long-term energy resilience.
